MVCC seeks high school artists for exhibition

UTICA, N.Y. >> Mohawk Valley Community College is seeking artwork for its annualHigh School Exhibition, which is open to local high school seniors.

Only two-dimensiona­l pieces will be accepted, and work can be from the student’s junior year.

The exhibition is juried, with the first-place winner receiving the Francis A. Wilcox Memorial Presidenti­al Scholarshi­p, a full-tuition scholarshi­p to MVCC. Second-place will receive $500, and third-place will receive $250. Winners will be announced in December.

The deadline for submission is 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1. Artwork can be dropped off at the School of Art office in Academic Building room

The exhibit will open with a reception at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in the glass cases on the second floor of the Academic Building at MVCC’s Utica Campus, and will close onFriday, Dec. 13. Artwork will be available for pickup in the School of Art office after the closing.
