Food Pantry open
Vernon — The Holy Family Church Food Pantry on Peterboro Road in Vernon serves families in Vernon, Vernon Center, Sherrill, Oneida Castle and Oriskany Falls. The food pantry is open the first and third Monday and Friday of every month. Monday is open 5-6:30 p.m. and Friday is open 9:30-11 a.m. Fresh food is the fourth Thursday of every month open 3-4:30 p.m. On Friday, Nov. 22, the food pantry will be hosting its turkey pickup. The pantry will be open the following dates: Friday, Nov. 22; Wednesday, Nov. 27; Monday, Dec. 2; Friday, Dec. 6; Monday, Dec. 16; Friday, Dec. 20; Thursday, Dec. 26.
Green Thumb Garden Club
Oneida Castle — The Green Thumb Garden Club of Oneida Castle will hold their November meeting on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m., at the OC Village Hall. The Village Hall is located at 11 State St. in Oneida Castle. There will be a business meeting followed by a presentation entitled “Pruning: When, Why and How” by Mike Mahanna, Master Gardener and Certified Arborist. Refreshments will follow. Fire Truck Parade in Munnsville
Munnsville — The Village of Munnsville will be hosting its 10th annual Fire Truck Parade and Tree Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 7. The Fire Truck parade is slated to begin at 6:30 along Main Street with the tree lighting to follow at 7 p.m. down by the Village Fire Hall. Free refreshments will be served at the tree lighting and will also be available at the meet and greet with Santa immediately following the tree lighting. Holiday Craft Fair
Verona — The Verona United Methodist Church will be holding it’s 27th Annual Holiday Craft Show and Luncheon on Saturday, Nov. 23. The church is located at 5690 Main St. and the doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
OPL Board next meets Nov. 26
Oneida — The Board of Trustees of Oneida Public Library will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. in the library’s Local History Room, 220 Broad St., Oneida. Fall yard clean up day
Oneida Castle — The Village of Oneida Castle will be holding their annual fall yard clean up from Nov. 18 until Nov. 22. Residents must place all yard debris at curbside and may include limbs up to two inches in diameter. All leaves must be bagged for pick up.
OPL will close for Thanksgiving holiday
Oneida — The Oneida Public Library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, to celebrate Thanksgiving. The library will be open as usual on Saturday, Nov. 30, from10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Verona — There will be a stone soup Verona Area community dinner on Thursday, Nov. 21 from4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Verona First Presbyterian Church. The meal is free and open to all. Any donations of money or grocery items will be benefit the Verona Area Food Pantry.

Oneida — The Oneida Area Civic Chorale will present “How Great Our Joy!”, a collection of traditional carols, on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. at Oneida High School. The Chorale, a 105-voice community chorus under the direction of Kimberly Nethaway, of Rome, will be accompanied on piano by Heather O’Connell of Oneida and Bernadette Van Valkenburg of Sherrill. Amanda Yeoman, of Oneida, will provide flute accompaniment, and the group will be joined by a string quartet, percussion and Chorale soloists. History Where You Eat Dinner Series

PAC 99 livestreaming
Oneida — Public Access Channel 99, on the Oneida area Spectrum cable service, has begun live streaming selected video on the PAC 99 Facebook page. Videos are streamed live and also archived for later viewing. PAC 99 continues to broadcast content on Spectrum cable channel 99 in addition to the Facebook live streaming. The weekly PAC 99 schedule is posted on the PAC 99 Facebook page. The PAC 99 website, www.pac99.org has been taken out of service and has been replaced by the PAC 99 Facebook page.

Bridgeport — The Lakeside Farmers Market, a collaboration of Bridgeport United Methodist Church and the community, is every Thursday from 3-7 p.m., rain or shine. Canastota — The Canastota/Lenox Seniors Club invites all residents of the town of Lenox and the village of Canastota who are 50 years of age or older to join their social group. ‘Decorative Threads’
Clinton — “Decorative Threads” is the current display at the Clinton Historical Society. There are dresses, smocks, and shirts from the mid to late 19th century as well as a large collection of lace and beaded purses. All of these items show the workmanship of themid to late Victorian period, whether made by hand or later by machine. It was often women whoworked hard to perfect their designs as wearing lace and embellishments on clothing was an important sign of status and prosperity. The historical society is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1-4 p.m.
5-hour course offered
BOCES Consortium for Continuing Education currently holds the approved DMV NYS pre-licensing 5 hour course at the following locations most Saturday’s from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rome YMCA, 301 W. Bloomfield St., Rome, and the Oneida Rec Center, 217 Cedar St., Oneida. Class is also held the first Thursday of every month from January to June 2019 from 4-9 p.m. at Hamilton High School, 24W. Kendrick Ave., Hamilton. The cost is currently $50, payable by cash or check to Madison-Oneida BOCES. You must have a valid picture Learner’s Permit in order to attend. No pre-registration necessary. Stockbridge town board meetings
Stockbridge — The town of Stockbridge Town Board will hold their regular monthly board meetings on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m., with the exception of September, which will be held on the second Monday of the month. An additional meeting will be held the end of December. The board meetings are held at the municipal building, located at Carlon Field, 5314 N. Main St., Munnsville.

Caregiver support group offered
Canastota — Madison County Office for the Aging will hold Caregivers & Coffee for persons caring for someone with Alzheimer disease, dementia and other forms of memory impairment, on the first Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. and the third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m.

Adult learning program
Rome — The BOCES Consortium of Continuing (BCCE) is offering a new evening class for adult learners in the region looking to earn their High School Equivalency diploma. Classes run from 5-8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Rome ACCESS Site, 266 W. Dominick St. Anyone interested can call 315-334-8000 for details about orientation, testing and the intake process. BCCE offers high school equivalency preparation programs at sites in Rome, Utica and Oneida. The classes offer adults the opportunity to work with a qualified instructor to improve math, reading, and writing skills, study for the exam, and take practice tests to ensure success on the official assessment. All high school equivalency classes and materials are provided at no cost to the student.
Office for the Aging
Canastota — The Office for the Aging’s caregiver support group will be held the first Thursday of every month. Attendees can join with other caregivers who are caring for a loved one. The group will meet at 8:30-9:30 a.m. and a “light” breakfast will be available.
