VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 74, COOPERSTOWN55>> Trailing by two points at the halftime of their season opener in the Sherburne-Earlville Tip-Off Tournament, the VVS Red Devils caught fire in the second half, outscoringCooperstown 45-22 down the stretch to claim victory. Forward Bailey Janowski netted a game-high 25 points to gowith 9 rebounds for the Devils in the victory. Guards Phoenix Weydig and Bryce Palmer followed with 17 points each for VVS, with Palmer adding seven assists in the winning effort. Note: Because the opening night of the tournament was cancelled due to weather, VVS will have to wait until Monday, Dec. 23 to vie for the championship.

Cook led ESM past Chittenango behind an 18-point effort. Kyle Manwaring and Alexander Lum paced the Bears with 6 points each in the defeat.
