‘Walk with a Doc’ event in Cazenovia next month
CANZENOVIA, N.Y. » Residents can take part in the Walk With a Doc event hosted by the Madison County Rural Health Council.
The walk is a health program that brings doctors, patients, and community members together to walk once a month in locations throughout the county.
The first walk will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on the Cazenovia “Monday Mile” which begins at Lakeland Park. Dr. Adam Berg, Gastroenterologist, will start the walk talking about IBD- Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m.11 a.m. on the Oneida Rail Trail “Monday Mile” on Seneca Street in Oneida (beside the Oneida High School) with Dr. Daniel Ratnarajah from MDVIP- affiliated with Primary Care Practice in Oneida AND Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. on the Chittenango Creek Walk “Monday Mile” with Dr. Heidi Puc from IM CNY in Chittenango.
These events are free and preregistration is not required. All are welcome to join the walk.

According to the American Heart Association, walking as little as 30 minutes a day can provide the following benefits:
• Improve blood pressure and blood sugar levels
• Help maintain a healthy body weight and lower the risk of obesity
• Enhance mental wellbeing
• Reduce the risk of osteoporosis
