Oneida man accused of using stolen credit cards

A 26-old Oneida man is accused of using stolen credits at several locations with Oneida and Madison counties.

State Police in Oneida arrested Mark J. Morey, Jr., on multiple counts of criminal possession of stolen property and identity theft.

The arrest stems from an investigat­ion by State Police in Sylvan Beach which began on June 28, 2020, where several vehicles located in the village of Sylvan Beach were entered and items were stolen from within. Several of these items constitute­d the victim’s debit and credit cards, police said.

According to police, Morey then utilized the stolen debit/credit cards at various locations within Oneida and Madison County. After being taken into custody by the Oneida Police Department, Morey was found in possession of several more stolen items belonging to the victims from Sylvan Beach.

Morey is charged with the following:

He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the city of Oneida Court on July 17, 2020, the village of Sylvan Beach Court on July 16, 2020, and in the town of Annsville Court on July 20, 2020.
