Mackenzie mix Signs to Play Field Hockey at East Stroudsbur­g

Mackenzie Mix, a senior at Camden Senior High School, signed her National Letter of Intent to join the East Stroudsbur­g University’s field hockey teamon November 11, 2020. East Stroudsbur­g University ( ESU) is a Division II athletic program located in

East Stroudsbur­g, PA, that competes in the Eastern Division of the Pennsylvan­ia State Athletic Conference.

Mackenzie will be continuing her academic and sports career at ESU under field hockey Head Coach Sandy Miller. The Warriors are the 2015 NCAA DII Field Hockey National Champions, 2016 NCAA Quarter- Finalist, 2017 NCAA Final- Four, 2018 NCAA National Championsh­ip Runner Up, 2019 PSAC Champs & NCAA Final- Four. A varsity field hockey player since the eighth grade, Mackenzie helped the Blue Devils win THREENYSPH­SAA Section III Championsh­ips, three TVL League Championsh­ips and were Regional Finalists ( 2017

2019). Mackenzie is the program’s All- Time leading scorer with 89 career goals, All- Time assist leader with 41 career assists for a total of 219 points. Mackenzie broke a 25- year- old record previously held by Erica Coggins ( 1993- 1995).

Mackenzie was a captain senior year, recorded 15 three- goal hat tricks in her HS career, All- State team her junior and sophomore years, All- CNY team junior and sophomore years, NYSPHSAA Section III AllStar team junior and sophomore years, All- Tri- Valley League first- team junior and sophomore years, 2020 Observer- Dispatch All-Mohawk Valley All- Stars Comeback Player of the Year junior year and 2019 All- Mohawk Valley AllStars Field Hockey Athlete of the Year sophomore year. All- Mohawk Valley AllStars team junior and sophomore years, NYSPHSAA scholar- athlete, sportsmans­hip award winner sophomore year, and All- Tri- Valley League second- team freshman year.

Mackenzie plays with the Cny field hockey Club. She also competed in the NFHCA Futures program 2017- 2018 and 2020, went to U14 Nationals.

Mackenzie also considered Lock Haven University and Brockport College for field hockey. University at Albany, US Naval Academy, and Millersvil­le University for track and field.

Mackenzie has lettered in both indoor and outdoor track& field, aswell as basketball.

Mackenzie will also continue her track & field track career at ESU under Interim Head Coach Justin Germani. Mackenzie was track team captain sophomore year went to NYSPHSAA State Outdoor Championsh­ips sophomore and freshman years. Medaled 4th place NY State div. 2 200m finals freshman year. NYSPHSAA Section III 200m Champion sophomore year, NYSPHSAA Section III triple winner Champion 100, 200, and 400m freshman year. AllCNY Outdoor team sophomore and freshman years, Tri- Valley League first- team sophomore and freshman years, Observer-Dispatch All- Mohawk Valley All- Star team sophomore and freshman years, Camden’s Most Valuable Runner sophomore year. Indoor Track Tri- Valley League Champion 300m sophomore year, Tri- Valley Pioneer League First Team selection for the 55m and 300m sophomore year, TriValley League Co- Track Athlete of the Year and Camden’s Co- MVP freshman year, NYSPHSAA Section III Class A 1600Meter Relay Outdoor Championsh­ip team and Tri- Valley League All- Star 1600 Meter 8th grade. Mackenzie holds multiple school records in the 55m, 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, and relay team events.

Mackenzie competed with the Magistics AAU Track & Field Club freshman year.
