Girl Scout Cookie Sales
Oneida — The Girl Scouts of the Oneida area will be holding Drivethru Cookie Booth sales through the month of February at the Oneida High School parking lot. Sales will be Sunday, February 14; Saturday, February 20; Sunday, February 21; Saturday, February 27; and Sunday, February 28. The booths will be open from noon to 6 p.m. each day. Many of our girls are earning money to help with expenses for a once in a lifetime trip to Savannah, GA, the birthplace of Girl Scouting in the US. We appreciate your purchase of Girl Scout Cookies!
MVHS receives more COVID Vaccines
Utica — The Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is scheduled to receive more COVID-19 vaccines this week. MVHS will reopen its vaccination POD, located in the MVHS Burrstone House, 1710 Burrstone Road, New Hartford. This POD will be open Thursday, February 11; Saturday, February 13; Sunday, February 14; Monday, February 15; and Tuesday, February 16 with appointments available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. MVHS is giving priority to healthcare workers for these vaccines, but will vaccinate anyone eligible from groups 1A and 1B. Oneida Board of Education meeting
Oneida — The Oneida Board of Education will hold a budget workshop on Wednesday, February 17 at 5 p.m. at the Costello Transportation Center.
Oz-stravaganza festival
Chittenango — The International L. Frank Baum & All Things Oz Historical Foundation board of trustees, in consultation with the Madison
County Health Department, State of New York, and CDC guidelines, has decided to cancel the 2021 Oz-stravaganza festival.
Chicken Riggie Dinner
Oriskany Falls — Augusta Presbyterian Church will have a Chicken Riggie Dinner on February 20, 2021 at the church, 2345 Route 26, Oriskany Falls, NY. The dinner will be served beginning at 5:00 PM. The cost is $10 per person and will be drive through pick up only. The cost is $10. People coming to the dinner are encouraged toi donate a pair of new socks for the church’s Socks of Love program. All socks will be donated to the Utica Rescue Mission.
Ash Wednesday
Vernon Center — The Augusta Presbyterian Church will observe Ash Wednesday, February 17th at 6 p.m. with the imposition of ashes at the Vernon Center Park, near the post office. Anyone wishing to receive ashes is welcome to come.
Ash Wednesday
Verona —While St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will once again offer Drive-thru Ashes for Ash Wednesday, February 17, it won’t be business as usual. Ashes will be offered between 6:30 and 9 a.m., but also 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6:30 p.m. There will also be some adjustments to combat the spread of the coronavirus and keep everyone as safe as possible.
Munnsville — Munnsville Volunteer Fire Dept. is holding it’s Annual Valentine’s Day BBQ. It will be this coming Sunday Feb. 14th @ 12pm. This will be Drive Thru Only. Dinners are $12.00, Kids 6 - 12 are $7.00, kids 5 & Under are free. Halves only are $8.00.
Planning board meeting
Munnsville — Please take notice that the town of Stockbridge planning board shall hold a special meeting to further consider the proposed solar energy facility application filed by NY Munnsville West Road Solar LLC (applicant) on property owned by the Walvoord Trust and located at 5946 west road, Munnsville, NY (tax map no. 64.-1-7.1). Said meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m. on February 25, 2021, at the town hall located at 5314 North Main Street, Munnsville NY 13409. This meeting is not a public hearing at this time. It is anticipated that a public hearing will be scheduled for a future meeting and shall be noticed in accordance with law. Please take further notice that the planning board may consider such other business which may come before the board at the date and time.
