United Way of Greater Oneida changes name
ONEIDA, N.Y. » The United Way’s Board of Directors is excited to announce a name change to their organization.
The organization is now officially The United Way of Madison County. For 71 years, the United Way has helped to improve the lives of its friends, neighbors, and those in need within the Greater Oneida Area. The board feels the new name reflects their commitment to all of Madison County in addition to the City of Oneida.
The United Way’s funded partner organizations have served residents throughout the county in healthcare, housing, food security, addiction support, and mental health— these have been some of the most critical services of our time, the United Way says.
The United Way of Madison County currently supports 14 local agencies that offer services and assistance to those in need. These agencies help provide opportunities for a better life to coworkers, neighbors, friends, and relatives. Even the smallest contribution can make a difference.
Throughout 2021, The United Way of Madison County will be committed to partnering with organizations operating in the more underserved parts of the county as well as recruiting board members and supporters throughout the area, officials say.
Residents’ contributions throughout the years have allowed the United Way to give back to the community in a myriad of ways. All the money raised in Madison County, stays in Madison County, officials say.
