Madison County to host drivethru vaccine clinic Saturday
WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. » Madison County Department of Health (MCDOH) and Madison County Office of Emergency Management are holding a drive-thru COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on April 3 at the Madison County Offices in Wampsville.
“We know that it is difficult for some individuals to get around and others feel uncomfortable being in public. A drivethru option to receive vaccine is one way we can help get that population vaccinated,” Madison County Public Health Director Eric Faisst said in a news release. “Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and those you love from COVID-19. Over 20,000 Madison County residents have already been vaccinated, it shows that these vaccines are safe. Please sign up today for your vaccine.”
Currently, individuals ages 30 and over are eligible to receive a vaccine in New York.
Those eligible who would like to attend this clinic should go to Madison County’s website or call the Madison County COVID-19 Hotline at (315) 366-2770 to make an appointment. An appointment is necessary to attend any of the clinics, no walk-ins will be allowed. Vaccine shots are free.
Appointments are also available at walk-in clinics this Thursday (April 1) and Friday (April 2) at SUNY Morrisville and Oneida’s Northside Shop
ping Center.
Madison County has a will-call list for individuals who are 18 years and older. To be placed on the will-call list, either fill out an online form or contact the Madison County COVID-19 Hotline at (315) 3662770. Officials will contact those on the list as soon as an appointment becomes available. Take note that if someone on the list is called or emailed, it is for an appointment that day. Individuals on the list are contacted for appointments after the county exhausts all eligible individuals.
Health officials would like to remind residents that COVID-19 remains a threat even as more people are getting vaccinated. They ask residents to remember the 3 W’s - wear a cloth face covering, watch your social distancing, and wash your hands.
