A 43-year-old Oneida man was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred this afternoon in the area of Blanding Hardware on Route 31 in Bridgeport.

At approximately 3:05 p.m. a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Caitlin R. Frost, 27-years-old, of Bridgeport crossed into the eastbound lane of Route 31 and collided with a 1988 Yamaha VMAX motorcycle operated by Christopher J. Tucker.

Tucker was treated at the scene by Bridgeport Fire Department and transported to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse by AMR ambulance. Officials said Tucker later succumbed to his injuries.

Officials said Frost was evaluated by a drug recognition expert and consented to providing a sample of her blood for further analysis, due to her admission of alleged drug use prior to the accident. The results are pending.

There is also an indication of distracted driving being a factor in this case.

Based on what the investigation has shown so far, Frost was charged with vehicular manslaughter in the second degree, driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving with a suspended license, and failure to keep right.

Caitlin was arraigned by Judge Finocchiaro and remanded to the Madison County Jail on $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bail bond, or $40,000 partially secured bond. Caitlin is set to appear before the Town of Sullivan Court on April 13, 2021 in regards to her charges.

In addition to Bridgeport Fire Department and AMR ambulance, Members of the Sheriff’s Office were assisted by New York State Police and Oneida Indian Nation Police.

The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
