WILLIAM A. WAMELING
ONEIDA- William A. Wameling, 66, Farrier Avenue, died Tuesday afternoon, July 27, 2021, in the Oneida Healthcare, shortly after his admission as a medical patient. Born in Oneida, on July 21, 1955, he was the son of Aloys W. and Patricia Caswell Wameling. Moving to California at a young age and later returning to this area in 1976, Bill was a graduate of Eagle Mountain High School in California and served with the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with the Diemolding Corporation and previously was employed with the former Oneida Heater Company, Inc. of Oneida. He was a member of the American Legion, Sylvan Beach Post # 1153, enjoyed working on cars and trucks, played as a drummer in various local bands and was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are his son, William A. Wameling II of Oneida; his mother and step-father, Patricia and David Behr of Oneida; his brother, James E. Wameling of Prescott, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie Ann Wameling in 1988, his father in 1987 and his brother, Bernard E. Wameling in 1997. Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday from the Campbell-dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida, with the Rev. Dc. James Chappell, officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will be made in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 11 AM- 1 PM, Tuesday, prior to the service.
