LAKELAND, FLA.- M. Jack Kern, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, July 31, 2021, in Lakeland, Fla. Jack was born on November 15th, 1944 the son of the late Harry and Ellen Kern, and was predecease­d by his older brother Monte Kern. Jack is survived by his partner Pat Swift, his three children, Michele Kern and spouse Don Roberts; Richard Kern and spouse Kelly Kern, Miranda Egelston and spouse Scott Egelson along with his 4 grandchild­ren (Ryan Kern, Rocky Kern, Jack Kern, and Markell Zinkovitch) and 3 greatgrand­children (Ryleighann Kern, Myles Kern, and Evelyn Kern). During the Vietnam War Jack proudly served his country with the United States Naval Seabees where he received numerous medals and citations. Prior to Jack’s retirement to Florida, he resided with his family in Munnsville, NY where he was an active member of the community and served many years as Mayor and a member of the Munnsville Fire Department, as well as the local American Legion. Jack will be greatly missed by many extended family members and friends who knew and loved him to include his 2 sisters-in-law from his 1st marriage to the late Cynthia Kern-kyser, Pamela Mitchell and Wendy Tiffin, and several nieces and nephews. A private service for Jack will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing to send condolence­s, or honor Jack is encouraged to donate to the VFW or the American Legion as per Jack’s request.
