Dodge takes you for a ride you won’t forget
Burn rubber!
Do you ever get that feeling when someone calls you, it makes your whole body tingle? When Dodge calls, that happens to me, because living in reality is the hardest thing to do. Keep your composure and wish the best. Well when we heard from Dodge PR, all we could do was start drooling; that is all over this week’s tester, the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody.
At 797 horsepower, there isn’t much more to think about, rather sit back and just dream about it. That’s right, 797 earth shattering ponies paired with 707 lb.-ft. of torque. I have not witnessed anything of this torque range in all of my tests in the past, so this is actually impressive to say the least. In Sport mode, it just spins the tires on demand as the turbo charger whines.
“The 2021 Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody is what happens when you send your family sedan to the gym five days a week, feed it a healthy diet of lean protein and healthy
greens, and put it on Barry Bond’s ‘supplements’ schedule. With LATCH car-seat anchors and 797 horsepower in Redeye trim, this is likely the most powerful sedan you could regularly take through the school pick-up line,” mentioned Matt Smith, deputy editor of Cargurus.
Not only does it have the great sound from the powertrain, but it is ultra comfortable. Our tester came in F8 Green exterior paint,
with the ever-loving Sepia/black interior while the leather seats were Laguna (almost orange) in color. The seats were so plush and squishy, we just loved sitting in it all the time. The Uconnect 8.4 inch infotainment display is our favorite in the business and was paired with Siriusxm, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. There was also an easy-to-use three-knob system on the dash, and heated and cooled front seats.
Options on the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody were the customer preferred package inclusive of a 220 mph speedometer that we wish we could test up to firsthand, Redeye logos abound and the SRT power chiller. We also enjoyed the suede interior package, the navigation and 305/35/R20 threeseason tires that we made sure worked correctly, wink wink!
For a family sedan, Dodge doesn’t skip a beat. The Charger footprint and upscale Hellcat Widebody Redeye model is a fantastic choice for all consumers. Power is over the top, comfort is second to none and those little Redeye additions certainly make people think twice when lining up next to you at a red light. In fact, most cars stay as distant as possible to avoid the embarrassment of getting beat off the line … well the smart ones anyway.
