ROBERT T. JONES

Robert T. Jones, 76, of Westmoreland passed away on August 24, 2021, at Oneida Health with his loving family by his side. We want to thank the hospitalists, nurses, and staff for the excellent care he received.

Robert was born on September 24th, 1944, in Utica, the son of Milo and Dorothy Edwards Jones. He grew up in Clark Mills and graduated from Clinton Central School in 1963. In 1965, he married his wife of 56 years, Michele Foster.

For 34 years he worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Company, retiring in 1999. Robert belonged to the Mount Hunger hunting club and was a volunteer with the Lairdsville Fire Department for several years.

Besides his wife, he leaves his son and daughter in law, Todd and Robin Jones, his daughter and son in law, Robin and Joe Shafer, his adored granddaughters, Josie, Marlee & Tessie Shafer, a sister Barbara Williams, a niece Marzel Williams, and a sister-in-law Georgia Abbuhl as well as several cousins and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard Jones. Honoring his wishes, there will be no public calling hours. A private service for the family will be held at their convenience. Those so wishing can make a donation to the Westmoreland Fire Department or COCVAC in his memory. Bob and his family wish to thank both of these organizations as they were there for Bob several times in recent years.
