Book Discussion: Stop into Morrisvill­e Public Library at the beginning of the month to grab a copy of the book, The Light Between Oceans by ML Stedman for this month’s community book discussion. Thoughts can be posted on the library’s Facebook event from September 16-30. Or just read the book because you want to.

Classics With Chelle: On Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. starting September 1, Morrisvill­e Public Library Manager, Michelle Rounds will read stories on Facebook Live. The first will be James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. Fun for kids and adults! This program will run from September 1through October 13. It will be live on Facebook until October 31, 2021, when it will be removed. Take-n-make Crafts: Stop into the Morrisvill­e Library any time this month and get some crafts to do at home. Crafts include a Hello Fall sign, a leaf hedgehog magnet, and some scratch art leaves. Craft kits are for kids ages 2-15ONLY, while supplies last.

New Morrisvill­e Library hours: The library will be open Monday, Wednesday, Friday 12p.m.-7 p.m., Tuesday/thursday 10a.m. to 7p.m. and Saturday 10a.m. to 1p.m. (These hours will last through winter. The weekend of Memorial Day, summer hours will return.

ADK Mountain Club meeting: The Iroquois Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club will resume their in-person meetings at 7p.m. at The First Baptist Church in New Hartford. The guest speaker will be Stu Miller presenting on the Sherrill Brook Park Community Forest Coalition. This coalition comprises a group of residents and several organizati­ons to preserve and enlarge Sherrill Brook Park in the towns of New Hartford and Kirkland. Non-motorized trails would be enhanced and created to connect these two towns. Stu is a resident of New Hartford and enjoys many outdoor activities, specifical­ly fishing and pickleball.

Sunday, September 12 Pedal for Autism:

With 1 in 54kids diagnosed with autism each day, help The Kelberman Center to promote understand­ing and awareness of autism through a 10or 20-mile charity bike ride that will take place at Woods Valley in Rome. The Pedal for Autism, with lead sponsor Birch Wealth Management, will be an enjoyable way to spend a morning to help raise funding for children, adults, and their families who receive Kelberman Center services.
