NANCY A. ZOOK-SCHMITZ
CLEVELAND-NANCY A. Zook-schmitz, 70, Stone Barn Road, died Friday, September 10, 2021, at Albany Medical Center, where she had been a medical patient for the past six days, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Syracuse, on October 29, 1950, she was the daughter of George M. and Mary Foster Zook, Sr. A lifelong resident of the area, Nancy was a graduate of Camden High School, Mohawk Valley Community College and Oneonta State College, where she received bachelor and masters degrees. She married Joseph P. Schmitz in St. John’s Church, North Bay, on May 1, 1982.
Prior to her lengthy illness, Nancy was last employed with Price Chopper Markets. She was a communicant of St. John’s Church, a member of the Town of Vienna Democratic Committee and enjoyed cross stitching and her home and its surroundings.
Surviving besides her husband, Joseph, are her brother and sister-in-law, George M. Zook, Jr. and Christine Miller and their daughters, Terra and Brooke; and several cousins.
Funeral services and visitation will be at a date and time to be announced. Interment will be made in the family plot in St. John’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell-dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida.
