CLOSING THE GAP
For decades the crime rate and incarceration rate between Whites and Blacks in the U.S. has been disproportionately high. But recent statistics show that the gap is narrowing, especially among females, largely due to the drop in crime rates. Studies attribute the decline to new law enforcement attitudes, reform acts, changes in drug use and sex offenses between Whites and Blacks.
