CHITTENANG­O-JOSEPH J. Froio a lifelong resident of Chittenang­o NY, passed away peacefully on September 25th, 2021 at the age of 77. Joseph is survived by his wife of 35 years Terry Froio. His children, Kristie Froio, Joe Love (Kim), and daughter in-law Kate Trainor Froio. His grandchild­ren Jack, Lillian, and Caroline Froio; Devin and Dalton Hack; Joe Love Jr. and Morgan. His Brothers Dominick and John Froio, and sister Janet Mckown (Kevin). He is predecease­d by his Mother Elizabeth Froio (Deking); Father Joseph Froio and his sons Thomas and Jeffrey Froio. Joseph was born on December 5th, 1943. In the early parts of his life he served honorably in the United States Navy. Throughout his life he has always strived to be an active member of his community. From being the Chief of police in the Village of Chittenang­o, to working at Crouse Constructi­on, MG Industries, and even volunteeri­ng his time as the Fire Chief in Chittenang­o. His loves in life were family, friends, and serving honorably for 16 years as the Commander of the Bridgeport VFW Post # 8440. His dedication and commitment was something to be admired and will be missed by all who knew him. He was also a lifetime member to Chittenang­o American Legion for over 50 years. Calling hours will be held at the G.F. Zimmer Funeral Home, 702 Legion Drive, Chittenang­o Saturday October 2nd from 10:00 -1:00. The Funeral will immediatel­y follow. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chittenang­o. In lieu of Áowers donations can be made to the Bridgeport VFW Post # 8440. A celebratio­n of life will be held after the funeral at the Bridgeport VFW.
