Vernon-lorraine B. Mullaney, age 97, of State Rt. 26, passed away Friday evening September 24, 2021 at the Oneida Healthcare Center.

She was born on March 24, 1924 in Utica, New York a daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Mcweeney Brower. Lorraine was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and went on to study applied arts at Boston University.

On November 22, 1950 Lorraine and John M. Mullaney were united in marriage in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in N. Utica, New York and haved this blessed vow of over 66 years together until John’s death on March 3, 2017.

Prior to her retirement Lorraine was employed in the clerical department of the sales ofàce with the Oneida Limited Silversmit­hs. Lorraine was a member of Holy Family Church of Vernon.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV throughout much of North America and enjoyed wintering in Florida. She loved her family and cherished the moments spent with them especially this past year when she met and visited her new great granddaugh­ter in Washington D.C.

Surviving are, one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Anthony Oliveri of Webster, NY, one granddaugh­ter and her husband, Sara and Emeka Olumba of Washington DC, one grandson Benjamin Oliveri of Austin, TX, one great-granddaugh­ter Rumi Oliveri Olumba, two sisters and one brother, Mary Jones, Benjamin and Marjorie Brower, Barbara and Richard Kelly. She also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predecease­d by her three sisters Esther Nuber, Sharon Brower and Helen Gray, brothers-in-law, Robert Gray, Ted Jones, and John Nuber and her sister-in-law Florence Ford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon, NY. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, N. Utica, New York. In lieu of Áowers please send donations to the Vernon Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 773, Vernon, NY, 13476. Arrangemen­ts are with the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., Vernon, NY.
