Oneida Girls tennis takes home Class B title; more local scores
The Oneida Girls tennis team captured the 2021 Class B Team Championship.
Oneida finished the season with a perfect 14-0 record. Oneida went into the tournament as the number #1 seed. The girls defeated JD 5-2, New Hartford 4-3 , and Whitesboro 6-1. The Oneida Girl’s tennis team completed the season by beating each Whitesboro and New Hartford two times in a matter of a week and a half.
“This was a great run for the six seniors on this year’s team and a great start to the career of six new up and coming players,” coach Todd Hicks said.
Oneida captures its 3rd Sectional title in a row. They won it in 2018, 2019, and now 2021.

Clinton 4, Sherburne-earlville 0 Four different Warriors netted goals in their win over Sherburne-earlville. Henry Schweitzer chipped in with two assists.
Canastota 2, Westmoreland/ Oriskany 0
The Raiders brought home a massive win over Westmoreland/oriskany. Conner Russell contributed with 7 saves in the Canastota win. Hamilton 2, Poland 0 The Emerald Knights improve their season record with a win over Poland. This marks their second win in a row. John Hughes secured an impressive 10 saves in the victory.
South Jefferson 0, Cazenovia 2
Daniel Raymond and JD Dolly secured the two goals for Caz in the win. This records as their third win in a row.
Tuesday Boys Soccer
New Hartford 9, Camden 0 With 4 goals and 2 assists, Nik Linder led the Spartans to a huge win over the Camden Blue Devils.
Oneida 0, Utica Proctor 4 The Raiders were too much for the Blue and Orange, taking them down with a score of 4-0. Despite the loss, Kaiden Cannistra had 12 saves for Oneida.
VVS 1, Whitesboro 2 The Red Devils were in a tight battle with the Warriors but fell just short of the win. Cameron Robinson had 22 saves in the loss.

Utica Proctor 0, Oneida 1 Jessica Torrey scored the lone goal for Oneida in the win over Utica Proctor. Madison 1, Remsen 8 The Blue Devils fall again as they drop to Remsen. Julia Dening and Olivia Stanford scored 2 goals apiece for Remsen. Whitesboro 7, VVS 0 The Red Devils dropped their 3rd game in a row, coming off a loss to the Whitesboro Warriors.
Wednesday
Boys Soccer Madison/brookfield 4, Oxford 1 The Blue Devils were able to take home a win with four separate players ensuring a goal each. Anthony Dodge had 7 saves for Madison in the win.
Stockbridge Valley 1, Deruyter 7
The Cougars fell short against the Rockets after allowing 5 goals in the second half.
Clinton 5, Little Falls 1 The Warriors were playing all-out against Little Falls, scoring all 5 goals in the second half. Jack Devine netted 2 goals for Clinton in the win.
Holland Patent 0, Canastota 2
After not scoring any goals in the first half, the Raiders made the adjustments and took home a win over Holland Patent. Kyle Musachio and Aiden Mascareno scored the goals for Canastota.

This marks the second loss in a row for the Red Devils. VVS currently has a 5-7-1 record as the season draws to a close.

Hamilton 4, Remsen 3 The Emerald Knights were able to hold on and take down the Rams. Emily Neuenschwander had 12 saves for Hamilton.

Maddie Luke secured a hat-trick against Holland Patent and continued their undefeated season.
Oneida 3, Utica-notre Dame 2
The Blue and Orange win two games in a row after taking down Utica-notre Dame. Emma Leblanc netted 2 goals for Oneida.
