HAROLD E. ROBERTS
Harold E. “Butch” Roberts, 78, of Sholtz Rd., Oneida, NY, passed away October 11, 2021 at the Roane Medical Center in Harriman, TN.
He was born on December 19, 1942 in Utica, NY, a son of the late William O. and Blanche Rider Roberts and was a graduate of Sauquoit High School. On August 25, 1962, Harold married Bonnie A. Baker in Knoxboro, NY., a loving and blessed union of 59 years. Butch worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for over 40 years until retiring.
He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hamilton, NY where he served as a trustee. He believed in Jesus Christ as his Savior as a teenager. His relationship with his Lord and Savior grew as he aged. He exempliàed God’s love and compassion by always being ready to help anyone in need. He was not one to judge others and
would not speak poorly of others. He greeted everyone with a smile and friendly word.
Butch was a 58-year member of the Oneida Castle Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Assistant Chief for many years and Chief for 26 Years. He was also a member of the Oneida County Firemen’s Association and the Oneida County Arson Task Force.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Bonnie; his children, Mark (Kathy) Roberts, Melissa (Jeff) Westfall, and Mike (Michele) Roberts; grandchildren, Elisha (Jerrod) Hershey, Mark (Grace) Roberts, Jr., David
(Serah) Roberts, Andrew (Molly) Roberts, Kaylee (Daniel) Siersen, Oksana (Evan) Wood, Seth Roberts, Quenten Roberts, Abigail Roberts, Elisabeth Roberts, Kristine Roberts, Sarah Roberts, Bonnie Westfall, John Westfall, Andrew Westfall, Samantha (Kevin Bellinger) Roberts, Ally (Brett) Snell, Elizabeth Roberts, Lyndsay Rosselo, David Rosselo; a brother, Charles (Lois) Roberts; brothers-inlaw, Bob (Sandy) Baker, Bill (Glenna) Baker, John (Mary) Baker, sisters-in-law, Betty (Bob) Gooden, Brenda (John) Holcomb; 26 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Christina Westfall; great-grandsons, Jeremiah Roberts and Finley Snell.
Services will be held at 1pm Saturday, October 16, 2021 from the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2369 W. Lake Moraine Rd., Hamilton, NY. Interment in the Oneida Castle Cemetery is private. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Homes, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY
