MPW Marketing utilizes remote working model to hire its first out of state employees
CLINTON, N.Y. » MPW Marketing, a full-service advertising and marketing firm in Clinton, has switched to optional remote work and has recently welcomed its first two new employees who are not based in Central New York.
MPW was founded in 2006, and like many companies, switched to a remote work environment during the pandemic. This was initially a temporary switch, but, over time, it became clear that the team appreciated and needed the flexibility, and there was no negative impact on the quality of work. What MPW found was that if anything, team performance improved. They say their employees didn’t lose a sense of connectedness with one another, either.
Working remotely is now optional for MPW employees, and they can choose to use the office when and if it makes sense for them.
MPW recently announced the addition of media buyer Paul Gabella, who is based in New Jersey, and search engine optimization (SEO) specialist Ashley Randall, who is based in Georgia. They are the first MPW employees of its growing team of 22 marketing experts to not be physically based in Central New York.
“Now that our employees are primarily remote, it only made sense to open up candidate selections to a bigger geographical radius,” said Matt Wilson, founder of MPW. “This led us to finding perfect fits like Ashley and Paul, whom we wouldn’t have met otherwise.”
Gabella joins MPW with eight years of experience planning and buying media, project management, and client-facing support. Most recently, Gabella was a senior media buyer at Beacon Media Group in Mahwah, N.J. for four years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and another in creative writing, both from Montclair State University.
Randall comes to MPW with nearly 10 years of experience in business management, marketing, and SEO. Most recently, she was a content/contributing writer for The Odyssey Online and DEV Community. Randall has earned certifications in Digital Marketing, Google Analytics, Responsive Web Design, Javascript Algorithms, and Data Structures.
“It’s an incredible thing to live in a time where we can bring teammates like Ashley and Paul on board through technology,” Wilson said. “It’s an approach to hiring that transcends geographical limitations, and gives us a better opportunity to find the specialized talent and experience we need on the team as we continue to grow.”
