Colgate Drops Rubber Game at Lehigh

Lehigh scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to come back and stun Colgate 7-6 in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Leadership Park.

Colgate scored three runs in the top of the third and added another in the fifth to provide Bailey Misken with an early fourrun cushion. Steph Jacoby got the Raiders on the board with an RBI double and Kara Fusco made it 3-0 with a run-scoring single into center field.

Adrienne Nardone blasted her third home run of the weekend in the top of the fifth. She took a 1-0 pitch and crushed it over the wall in left center to stretch Colgate’s lead to 4-0. Misken was dominant through five scoreless innings be

fore running into a jam in the bottom of the sixth.

Back-to-back RBI doubles by Addie Kittel and Brooke Canon cut the deficit in half, and then the Mountain Hawks took their first lead of the game on a tworun triple by Josie Charles. Jaelynn Chesson added an infield single in the inning to push Lehigh’s lead to 7-4.

Jacoby made it a one-run game with a two-run double in the top of the seventh, but the Raiders couldn’t bring her home and the Mountain Hawks held on for the 7-6 win.

Jacoby had two doubles and three RBIS, while Nardone wrapped up a stellar series with a 3-for-3 day at the plate which included her third home run of the weekend. Jillian Herbst finished with two hits and two runs scored.
