Stewart’s Shops brings more jobs with new district office

UTICA, N.Y. » Stewart’s Shops has announced plans to open its district office in the city of Utica, which will bring twelve new jobs to the city.

“We are proud to support our communitie­s and make them stronger. As one of the largest employers in New York State, we are always hiring; we are pleased to bring these new job opportunit­ies to Utica,” Stewart’s Shops President Gary Dake said in a news release.

Stewart’s Shops has a longstandi­ng history of supporting Utica and the greater Utica areas. Stewart’s Shops currently has two shops in Utica and several in surroundin­g areas

In 2019 the convenienc­e store chain and the Department of Environmen­tal

Conservati­on worked together to clean up a contaminat­ed and once abandoned lot in need of clean up resulting in a brand new Stewart’s Shops in Yorkville.

“Ever since Stewart’s Shops opened their first location in Utica several years ago, they have been a model business and outstandin­g community partner. We are grateful to Stewart’s Shops for their continued investment in Utica,” Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri said.

Stewart’s Shops committed to giving $8 million to nonprofits in 2022 across their market areas. Recipients include The Utica Bike Rescue, Utica Bulldog Pop Warner, Utica Little League, Utica Zoo, YWCA Mohawk Valley and many others.
