Audi RS is back … e-tron GT style

- By Marc D Grasso

In Grasso’s Garage, it’s all about comfort, style and power. As you know, my avid readers also enjoy knowing about the most popular, most attractive, or even the newest to the market vehicles that fit their needs and/or price category. But when it comes to EV’S, readers enjoy what it’s all about to make their own decision on the future of automobiles.

This week we experienced the 2022 Audi RS e-tron GT, Audi’s take off of the Porsche Taycan. Wrapped in familiar Kemora Gray Metallic this 100% EV is a beautiful car. Similar to the aesthetics of the Porsche Taycan and Porsche Panamera, the RS e-tron GT has a lot to offer.

With over 275 miles of charge life, a sporty appearance both inside and out, makes the RS e-tron GT really attractive to consumers. Although pricing can easily get in the way of your decision and with our tester, it came in with a $139K base price tag that optioned up over $161K, yikes! Although that included the best of the best, like 21 inch wheels, ceramic brakes, red calipers, honeycomb leather stitched seats, carbon fiber accents and more. Included in the price was technology features such as Audi Connect, remote park assist and wireless connectivity to Apple Carplay and Android Auto. A 4 year / 50,000 mile new vehicle warrant as well as an 8 year / 100,000 mile battery warranty are included.

For the Audi RS, we love the vehicle overall. With its similarity to its upscale brand and other models, the RS e-tron GT is a really nice vehicle. It also has the appearance that makes consumers do a double-take. As safety and technology features are clearly atop of manufacturers’ minds, the Audi really delivers with this one in those categories nicely. The only flaw I see with the RS models is the price point as a whole. It certainly drills down deep into the consumer pool as they are very upscale for the price and seeing one on the road is few and far between.
