Af­ter scor­ing a hit with a se­ries set in the 1960s, AMC reaches even fur­ther back in time for this new spy drama based on ac­tual events dur­ing the Rev­o­lu­tion­ary War. Jamie Bell, Seth Num­rich, Daniel Hen­shall and Heather Lind star as the founders of Amer­ica’s first in­tel­li­gence agency, the Culper Ring. Burn Gor­man and Kevin McNally also star.


Star-Crossed 8-9 p.m., WTVX, WSFL

Af­ter Ro­man (Matt Lan­ter) in­vites Emery (Aimee Tee­gar­den) to cel­e­brate an Atrian hol­i­day with his fam­ily, she asks Sophia (Brina Pa­len­cia) for ad­vice on im­press­ing her mother (Su­san Wal­ters Ashby). Vega (Merle Dan­dridge) taps Drake (Greg Fin­ley) as the new un­der­cover op­er­a­tive, but Ro­man wants her to re­con­sider in the new episode An Old Ac­cus­tom’d Feast. Be­ing Hu­man 9-10 p.m., SYFY

In the gut-wrench­ing se­ries fi­nale, Sally (Meaghan Rath) is des­per­ate to keep her vi­sion of Ai­dan (Sam Witwer) killing Josh (Sam Hunt­ing­ton) from com­ing true. She makes a huge sac­ri­fice that changes Ai­dan’s life for­ever as he tries to de­stroy the evil spirit in the house.

The com­pe­ti­tion moves on to the next phase in the new episode The Play­offs Pre­miere. The top 20 artists per­form for judges Adam Levine, Blake Shel­ton, Shakira and Usher, who will each elim­i­nate two team mem­bers and send the re­main­ing 12 through to the fi­nal phase — the live shows. The Hecks are look­ing for­ward to hit­ting an all-you-can-eat buf­fet af­ter church, but af­ter their fam­ily squab­ble dis­rupts the ser­vice, the vis­it­ing min­is­ter (guest star Kee­gan-Michael Key) in­sists they stay be­hind for some coun­sel­ing. It turns out they need a lot of it, and they may not make it to the restau­rant in time. NOVA 9-10 p.m., WXEL, WPBT

The three-part se­ries In­side An­i­mal Minds opens with Bird Ge­nius, which will prob­a­bly blow some hu­man minds — and make them think twice about us­ing bird­brain as an in­sult. You’ll meet a crow that can work through eight steps to get at food, a raven solv­ing a puzzle at high speed, and a cock­a­too that can pick locks.

Mary (Ade­laide Kane) finds out that there’s a se­cret clause in her mar­riage con­tract, thanks to her mother, Marie de Guise (Amy Bren­nan), and Queen Cather­ine (Me­gan Fol­lows). She and Fran­cis (Toby Regbo) hatch a plan to turn all of Scot­land against Marie in the new episode Liege Lord. Vik­ings 10-11:02 p.m., HIS­TORY

Rag­nar and King Horik (Travis Fim­mel, Donal Logue) agree that Jarl Borg (Thor­b­jorn Harr) must be brought to jus­tice. They just can’t agree on how it should be done. King Aelle (Ivan Kaye) ar­rives in Wes­sex, and Ecbert (Li­nus Roache) con­sid­ers a new al­liance. Kath­eryn Win­nick also stars in the new episode Blood Ea­gle.

Car­rie (Poppy Mont­gomery) fi­nally ap­pre­hends an as­sas­sin who es­caped her clutches in the past. She wants noth­ing more than to put this woman away for good, but she’s got a tough choice to make: The killer has some crit­i­cal in­for­ma­tion that could pre­vent a ter­ror­ist at­tack on the city in the new episode Flesh and Blood. Will (Hugh Dancy) is re­leased from the asy­lum af­ter Miriam Lass (Anna Ch­lum­sky) is found alive, along with ev­i­dence ex­on­er­at­ing him from any in­volve­ment in the Ch­e­sa­peake Ripper and Copy­cat Killer cases. Jack (Lau­rence Fish­burne) hopes Miriam can help him crack the case, but her mem­ory is foggy in the new episode Yaki­mono.


NASCAR Rac­ing 6-10:30 p.m., WFLX

South Carolina’s Darlington Race­way is the set­ting as Sprint Cup driv­ers hit the track in the Bo­jan­gles’ South­ern 500. In last year’s race, Matt Kenseth took the lead from Kyle Busch with 13 laps re­main­ing, while Busch man­aged to fin­ish sixth de­spite hav­ing a cut right rear tire with only 12 pounds of air. Prov­ing that the old stereo­type about men re­fus­ing to ask for di­rec­tions goes back cen­turies, Leonardo (Tom Ri­ley) at­tempts to nav­i­gate the At­lantic with­out any maps. Lu­crezia (Laura Had­dock) is smug­gled into the Vat­i­can to at­tend a key meet­ing. While Lorenzo is in Naples, his true iden­tity is re­vealed in the new episode The Ends of the Earth.
