DELRAY BEACH — Delray Beach police continue to search for a mentally challenged woman who has been missing since she walked out of her home Wednesday morning.

At a news conference Monday, the mother of Marie Cassandra Hutchinson made an emotional plea for help in finding her daughter.

“Where is she?” Lilly Haye said, as family and friends held her steady at a podium. “Oh God, I can’t take it no more. Marie, Marie, Marie. Where are you?”

Police say that Hutchinson, 43, who moved to Delray Beach from Jamaica a month ago, walked out of her home Wednesday through an unlocked front door with only $4 and the clothes she was wearing, and without the medication that family said keeps her “stable.”

“The biggest concern is her mental capacity,” said Del- ray Beach Detective Gary Ferreri, adding that Hutchinson functions at the level of a small child.

When last seen, Hutchinson was wearing a pink shortsleev­e shirt, pink pants and black sneakers.

Police received a call Monday morning about a possible sighting of Hutchinson but it turned out to be a false alarm, Ferreri said.

Police department­s and hospitals in Palm Beach, Martin, Broward and Miami-Dade counties have been notified about Hutchinson’s disappeara­nce, Ferreri said. The medical examiner’s offices in each of those counties have also been contacted.

Police and volunteers have also gone door-to-door in the Del Ida Park community with no luck. Ferreri said a neighbor believes she saw Hutchinson about 9 a.m. on the day of her disappeara­nce carrying one shoe in her hand and
