Girls basketball: Games to watch this week

Grandview Prep (11-7) at No. 2 Oxbridge Academy (17-5), 5:30 p.m. Thursday: The ThunderWolves got back on track the last week after dropping games to top teams from around the state. Oxbridge beat district rival Newman and had no issue with King’s Academy. Grandview Prep has been on a roll of late, though. The reigning Class 2A semififinalist has won its last fifive games and six of its last seven. Junior guard Megan Rampersad has led the way for the Pride, averaging 17.9 points per game this season.

No. 8 Benjamin (17-4) at No. 10 Lake Worth Christian (20-5), 4:30 p.m. Friday: A battle of two of the top small schools in the county, this game is a great chance for both of these teams to prove themselves — especially for the Defenders, who lost to Benjamin 73-20 when the two teams played at the beginning of the season. Both teams have been rolling lately, with the Bucs’ offffffffffffense putting up 150 points in its last two games and the Defenders winning nine of their last 10.
