Gators bullpen gives up 3 HRs
Florida lost to LSU 10-6 on Sunday, but the 12th-ranked Gators won the weekend series in Gainesville after taking the fifirst two games a g a i n s t t h e f i f t h - r a n ke d Tigers.
Fl or i da ( 1 6-9, 2 - 4 SEC) h a d a 5 - 0 l e a d t h r o u g h fifive innings, but LSU (18-7, 4-2 SEC) finally got some offffffffffffense going late and scored eight runs over the fifinal two innings to earn the win. The Tigers hit three two-run homers against the UF bullpen.
The LSU offffffffffffense averaged eight runs per game entering the weekend, but the Gators pitching staffff limited the Tigers to just one run through the fifirst 23 innings before the visiting team’s late offffffffffffensive outburst.
“It was a disappointing loss. I thought we played great all weekend until the last few innings today,” Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan said.
Miami 6, North Carolina 2: Junior left-hander Michael Mediavilla was his vintage self, Miami’s offffffffffffense came through again and the Hurricanes salvaged their series at No. 8 North Carolina.
A day after tying for the most hits given up by the Tar Heels (18-6, 6-3 ACC) this season, the Hurricanes (1113, 4-5) took a comfortable lead with a four-run sixth inning.

American Heritage graduate Tyler Frank had two hits, and Jake Miednik (3-1) earned the win.
