PALM BEACH POST PREDICTIONS
The Dolphins corners could have a hard time handling Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson. Miami’s linebackers may have a tough time with rookie tight end O.J. Howard. But Miami should be able to generate more pressure than they have, and they cannot afford to lose to Beat Ryan Fitzpatrick with the
entire season on the line. Jay Cutler should have a typical rebound game against a vulnerable secondary.
Dolphins 24, Buccaneers 21 Finally an easy one. The Dolphins defense should look spectacular against Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers have scored 28 points total in their past three games. Meanwhile, Miami’s offense has looked solid and should continue along that track. It’s time for everybody to buy back into the Dolphins — at least until they go to New England next week.
Dolphins 24, Buccaneers 6
I don’t often compare results from opponents because every week in the loony NFL is different. But I couldn’t help but notice that the Bucs have gone 1-2 in their past three games yet showed more life vs.
the Panthers, Saints and Jets than the comatose Dolphins did. And, frankly, after Monday night, I’m not inclined to pick Miami anytime soon.
Buccaneers 9, Dolphins 6 This matchup worried me a lot more when it was the season opener. Jameis Winston was ready to go back then and Tampa Bay was coming off a 9-7 season. So much momentum has since been lost on both
sides that it comes down to picking the home team in a close one. Unless Ryan Fitzpatrick is better than Jay Cutler, which is possible.
