Hurricane Grill & Wings unveils ‘BTW’ concept
A “hurricane” of the fast-casual variety is coming to suburban West Palm Beach next month. That’s when Hurricane BTW, a new national chain, opens its first franchise location on Okeechobee Boulevard, west of Jog Road.
To locals, it means a new spot for burgers, tacos and wings (aka “btw”), as well as tenders, salads, shakes, wine and craft beer (including a 32-ounce, resealable Crowler can). Menu highlights include buttermilk-marinated chicken BLT tacos, Korean barbecue beef tacos, single- to triplepatty burgers, and tenders and wings, with a dozen sauces and dry rubs in which to dress them.
The BTW concept may be new, but the chain’s parent company is a West Palm Beach mainstay – Hurricane Grill & Wings is headquartered in West Palm, as is BTW.
The opening planned for Dec. 9 will come eight months after the chain announced plans to open 49 locations across the country in less than four years. The BTW brand opened a “lab” location last year in Fort Lauderdale, where it continues to operate.
Occupying a 2,700-square-foot
space on the southern side of Okeechobee Boulevard, the West Palm location will serve as a template for more than 50 additional franchise locations scheduled to open nationally in less than four years, according to a company news release. Those locations include a shop in Gainesville, to be opened by the same West Palm franchise owner.
West Palm customers can expect counter service in a casual setting that’s equipped with seven sports-tuned TV screens and a specialty sauce bar.
“It’s a great brand with great food,” franchise owner Jack Gandolfo said in the
news release. “I’m a big fan of the Hurricane Grill brand and BTW is a great transition into the fast-casual environment featuring Hurricane Grill & Wings’ best products. I’m excited to showcase the restaurant to our customers.”
