Brightline will launch its passenger service between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale on Saturday. Here’s what you need to know about the express trains.

How do I buy a ticket? Tickets are available on Brightline’s website, gobrightli­ne.com, and its new mobile app. The website experience­d technical problems Thursday, and some travelers had difficulty buying tickets.

How much does a ticket cost?

Introducto­ry “Try Our Train Fares” will be $10 each way for a seat in one of Brightline’s Smart Service cars. One-way tickets for a Select Service seat will cost $15.

How long will the ride take?

One-way trips between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale are expected to take 35 minutes. Brightline trains travel at speeds up to 79 mph.

Where can I find Brightline’s train schedule?

Brightline’s schedule is available on its website and its app. During the week, the company plans to run 10 round-trip trains a day between the two cities. There will be nine round-trip trains on the weekends. Trains will depart as early as 6 a.m. and as late as 11 p.m. The schedules will differ between weekdays and weekends.

The inaugural train will depart the West Palm Beach station at 8 a.m. Saturday. After that, trains will leave West Palm Beach every 90 minutes. The last train will depart West Palm at 9:30 p.m.

Where are the Brightline stations?

Brightline’s West Palm Beach station is at 260 Quadrille Plaza Drive, which is just north of CityPlace and west of Quadrille Boulevard.

The Fort Lauderdale station is at 101 NW Second Ave., which is north of Broward Boulevard and east of Interstate 95.

How much does it cost to park at the stations?

For a limited time, Brightline is offering riders free parking at its stations. Following the introducto­ry period, the company will offer a discounted daily rate when you prepay for parking.

How do I get around once I’m in Fort Lauderdale?

Brightline’s Fort Lauderdale station is two blocks from the city’s Sun Trolley system. The trolleys shuttle people to downtown destinatio­ns, area beaches and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Internatio­nal Airport.

Broward County’s bus system also has a stop near the station.

Taxis and ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft also will carry passengers to other downtown destinatio­ns. Can I take my pet?

Yes. The company allows one cat or dog to travel with you per ticket. A pet can ride in a coach luggage tower, under your seat or on your lap for free, according to the company’s website. Brightline says it is working to add the option of booking a seat for your pet beside you. Can I take my bike? Yes. There is no charge to take your bike on the train.

What is the difference between Brightline’s Select and Smart cars?

Each train will include three Smart coach cars and one Select coach car. The Select cars feature larger seats and compliment­ary food and beverage service. Smart-car travelers will be able to buy food items.

Is alcohol served on the train?

Yes, you can get beer and wine on the trains in the afternoons and evenings. If you have a Select ticket, it is compliment­ary.

Are there restaurant­s in the stations?

The stations have graband-go food areas, serving beer, wine and a variety of pastries and other snack items.
