Sneaker sisters buy 2 N. Dixie Highway spots in Lake Worth
LAKE WORTH — Two North Dixie Highway properties bought by Peters Development recently got an outdoor makeover with fresh paint and a new porcelain wood veneer facade.
“We wanted to bring back the look that’s more in line with today’s standards and the new 7-11 that was just completed a few months ago across the street,” said Ariana Peters, managing partner at Peters Development, a company that owns more than 25 properties in and around downtown Lake Worth.
Peters said Peters Development paid $610,000 for 932 and 926 N. Dixie Highway.
Peters and her sisters — Dakota and Dresden — have had their sights on the property for about two years, but the owner didn’t want to sell.
“The property was in the previous owner’s family for over 50 years and this was the first time it would have been put on the market,” Peters said. “He promised us that when he did decide to sell, he would contact us. The rest is history.”
The Peters sisters also own Chicks With Kicks, an upscale sneaker collection. They plan to open a sneaker store in downtown Lake Worth later this year.
She didn’t say how much the company spent for the fixes. “We’re still working on the buildings so we don’t have a total on the renovations,” Peters said.
The front part of the 932 N. Dixie Highway site is being leased to Freeway Insurance and the back to Diaper Depot.
At 926 N. Dixie Highway, Peters Development is looking to fill the 2,500-squarefoot space and hopes to have the site leased in the next 60 to 90 days.
“We have already showed the site to CrossFit and an attorney and both have shown great interest,” she said.
Peters said the sites are in a great location near Interstate 95, Walgreens, 7-11 and Tuppens, emphasizing that more than 40,000 cars drive by the corner every day.
