Ad for ‘daddy’s little girl’ leads to arrest
WEST PALM BEACH — A 64-year-old Boca Raton man looking for “daddy’s little girl” was arrested Wednesday when he went to a Delray Beach McDonald’s, thinking he was meeting up with a 14-year-old, according to police records.
Warren Seckler, 64, instead met law enforcement, including a West Palm Beach police detective who had been communicating with him online. She had posed as the mother of a 14-year-old interested in engaging in sexual activities with Seckler.
The detective, who works with the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, responded to Seckler’s March 18 Craigslist ad “looking for a young girl.”
The undercover officer asked if he would be interested in a girl younger than 18. He replied: “Did you say younger than 18? No, that would be illegal.”
He later said he would be interested, as the experience would be “unique and different for sure.” He described the sexual activities he wanted to do with the girl and sent a picture of himself. He shared his phone number so the woman could send pictures of her daughter to him.
He also sent pictures of his Boca Raton home to the woman to show her that his home was safe. He said he bought the teenager a teddy bear and candy.
Seckler confessed to law enforcement who detained him at the McDonald’s on Linton Boulevard just east of Interstate 95, that he had posted the Craigslist ad. He said he offered to pay for the woman’s gas for driving to the McDonald’s and then to his Boca Raton home.
He faces charges of trying to lure a child, traveling to meet the child and using technology to commit the alleged crimes.
Judge Dina Keever-Agrama ordered Seckler be held in the Palm Beach County Jail on a $53,000 bond. He cannot have access to the internet or contact with anyone under age 18.
