JUPITER — A medical office building on Military Trail in Jupiter has sold for $14.1 million.

The 31,000-square-foot, twostory structure is in front of the Barcelona apartments across from the U.S. post office.

The price is about $450 per square foot.

The Medical Group of South Florida Inc. is the major tenant in the building, with about 100 employees.

The seller, affiliated with The Medical Group of South Florida, is Barcelona MOB. The buyer is 1094 Military Trail llc.

“The sale price is an indication of the high value of medical office property,” said Danny Simon of FLF Real Estate, which handled the sale.

More medical expansion is planned by the Jupiter Medical Center.

The town council approved in February the expansion of the JMC Foshay Cancer Center. The new, 55,000-square-foot addition is planned to be called the Anderson Family Cancer Institute.

The project near Military Trail and Jupiter Lakes Boulevard is part of a $123 million expansion plan by JMC, the town’s largest employer.

JMC also plans this summer to open a 4,000-square-foot urgent care center in Stuart.

The center will have about six exam rooms, X-ray equipment and lab services, said Judy Magalhaes, vice president of ambulatory care at JMC.
