Samantha Marulli announced that the inaugural Jessica Marulli Memorial Scholarship event raised over $100,000 in cash and pledges to fund an endowment for scholarships at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. The fundraiser held at the Marullis’ home was a celebration of the life of Jessica Marulli, who passed away two years ago from pancreatic cancer. Over 100 Palm Beach residents attended the event, co-hosted by
Dr. Yvonne Boice and her husband, Franklin Pierce board member, Al Zucaro.
“We were overwhelmed by the support of so many of our wonderful friends who demonstrated their love for our family by so generously donating to this scholarship fund, which will provide a legacy for my late sister, Jessica,” said Samantha Marulli. “Thanks to their tremendous goodwill, deserving scholars will benefit for years to come.”
Dr. Yvonne Boice—who received her honorary doctorate from Franklin Pierce University—was the champion of the scholarship’s creation. Boice is a longtime friend of Jessica’s parents, Barbara and Al Marulli. “Jessica was an outstanding young woman and now her name will be forever associated with helping university students achieve their dreams of having a college degree,” said Boice.
The Jessica Marulli Memorial Scholarship will be bestowed upon an outstanding student, majoring in liberal arts. Each year, FPU will select the recipient of this scholarship through an online application.
This scholarship fundraiser will become an annual event in Palm Beach, taking place on March 29, to commemorate Jessica’s birthday.
