Teen in fatal crash is shooting suspect
WEST PALM BEACH — A teen out on bond in a fatal 2016 crash now faces an attempted murder charge in a shooting Tuesday morning at a West Palm Beach apartment complex.
Marauavious Hill, 19, of Riviera Beach, was arrested Thursday for reportedly shooting at a man and his sister shortly after 9 a.m. at the Palm Grove Apartments.
Judge Ted Booras on Friday ordered Hill held without bail during a bond hearing at the Palm Beach County Jail.
The woman told police she dropped her kids off at school, then received a call from her brother asking to be picked up at a friend’s home. They grabbed breakfast and headed to the complex on Australian Avenue north of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.
As they pulled into the parking lot, they noticed a silver four-door sedan close behind them, she said. Then they saw “Q,” as Hill is known, point a gun at them and fire at least four shots.
The woman pulled her gun and shot back. She has a concealed-carry license, police records state, and immediately turned over her gun to authorities. She said she was terrified Hill would kill them. Neither was injured.
The woman said Hill fought her brother at the same apartment complex and threatened to kill him about a month ago.
At least two people have been fatally shot at that complex, according to a Palm Beach Post database. Taurean Lewis, 30, was killed and two others injured in a July 2015 shooting. Earnest Fulton Jr. was shot there in December 2012 and died nearly two years later.
Court records show Hill is facing charges in a 2016 crash that killed a motorcyclist Jerry Parker, 62. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges and has a status check on the case in May.
