Pair of injuries land Dodgers’ Puig on DL

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right fielder Yasiel Puig on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with a left hip pointer and bruised foot after getting hurt in the field and the plate a day earlier.

Puig was initially injured during the first game of a doublehead­er Saturday when he ran hard into a padded wall near right field after making a one-handed catch in foul territory to end the first inning.

Diamondbac­ks: Lefthander Robbie Ray left Sunday’s game against the Nationals in the bottom of the second with a strained right oblique muscle. Ray, an All-Star last season, entered Sunday 2-0 with a 5.13 ERA.

Padres: Right fielder Wil Myers strained an oblique and was placed on the 10-day disabled list, but manager Andy Green indicated a stretch twice that long could be in order.

College basketball: Florida State center Ike Obiagu says he is leaving the team and plans to transfer. The 7-foot freshman from Nigeria made the announceme­nt Sunday on his Twitter account. Obiagu started 14 games last season and led the team in blocked shots with 71, including 25 over the final eight games. He averaged 2.3 points and 2.6 rebounds.

Soccer: Borussia Moenchengl­adbach captain Lars Stindl has been ruled out of the World Cup for Germany because of to a left ankle injury sustained in Saturday’s Bundesliga 1-1 draw with Schalke. The club says Stindl has been diagnosed with capsule and ligament damage, will undergo surgery and be out for around three months.

Cycling: Primoz Roglic won the Tour of Romandie title, giving the Slovenian former ski jumper his second stage-race victory in April. Roglic protected his lead over Egan Bernal to win by eight seconds. Defending champion Richie Porte was of Australia third.
