Palm Beach Atlantic University has promoted Bob Lutz to dean of students and Kate Magro to assistant dean of students. Lutz has served as assistant dean of students at Palm Beach Atlantic since 2016, having joined the university in 2013 as director of Student Activities, Involvement and Leadership (SAIL). He is a doctoral candidate in educational policy and leadership at the University of Dayton.
Magro joined PBA in 2013 as director of Workship, the University’s signature community service program for more than 2,000 students and 200 community partners. Previously, she was the director of East Africa Regional Business Office for AECOM in Uganda, where she was responsible for logistical support for multiple U.S. governmental contracts throughout East Africa. Magro has worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer serving with the HandsOn Network as well as with Samaritan’s Purse and Food for the Hungry’s Go ED program. She is a graduate of Wheaton College with a B.A. in psychology/Christian education and an M.A. from Asbury Theological Seminary in Christian education.
Adam Friedwald, a certified public accountant with Caler, Donten, Levine, Cohen, Porter & Veil (CDL), joined the board of directors of the Center for Family Services of Palm Beach County Inc.
The center provides families with affordable mental health services and education and is recognized by the Florida Department of Health as the only sexual abuse treatment provider in Palm Beach County. Friedwald will join seven other board members in directing and guiding the center as it operates eight programs throughout Palm Beach County and serves more than 5,000 people annually. He has been with CDL since 2004 and specializes in performing audits in the industries of manufacturing and distribution, employee benefit plans, hospitality, real estate and nonprofit organizations.
Friedwald is a graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in finance. He has CPA certifications in Florida and New York. Friedwald is a member of the American Institute of the Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Governmental Finance Officers Association.
