PALM BEACH — A two-decadeold murder, the last to occur in the town of Palm Beach, will be featured next week in an episode for the cable television network Investigation Discovery.

The program “Reasonable Doubt” will focus on the June 13, 1996, murder of 71-year-old Palm Beach socialite Geraldine Pucillo. The episode will air at 10 p.m. next Wednesday, the network announced Wednesday.

Kim Duane Cain, then a 32-year-old Palm Springs pest-control worker, was convicted for Pucillo’s murder and is serving a life sentence at the Okeechobee Correctional Institution.

In a jailhouse interview for the television program, Cain disputed the evidence that was used to convict him.

Prosecutors alleged that he killed Pucillo after she caught him stealing her jewelry. Pucillo’s son, Michael Pucillo, found her dead in her shower with an electrical cord wrapped around her hands. A partial palm print found in the shower led Palm Beach Police to Cain.

According to testimony at his trial, Cain tried to pawn a bracelet that belonged to Pucillo at the Palm Beach Kennel Club to feed his gambling habit. He never explained to the jury how he got the bracelet.

On April 28, 1997, he was sentenced to life in prison plus 60 years.

Michael Pucillo has spoke sparingly about his mother’s death in the years since.

“Obviously, it was a very difficult time,” he told the Palm Beach Daily News in a January 2017 interview. It’s just a very difficult event to live through. It was a real shock.”

In a promotional video clip provided by Investigation Discover, Cain said the palm print found in the shower was not his.

Cain’s daughter, Keri, is seeking his release. She will be featured on the Investigation Discovery segment along with Cain’s ex-wife, Patti; his friend Shaun Vickers; forensic investigator Richard J. Brzeczek; fingerprint analyst Jerry Cole; and the jury foreman, Timothy Parson.
