Palm Beach Central 2019 defensive back Akeem Dent accepted an invitation to play in the 2019 Under Armour All-America Game, joining Benjamin defensive back Kaiir Elam, who accepted his invitation in March.

The date of next year’s game has not been announced yet.

Dent, a Super 11 pick and the Post’s Large Schools Defensive Player of the Year, had 81 tackles, five intercep- tions, two sacks and four forced fumbles last year while also playing on offense.

Dent, a Florida State com- mit, is the No. 1 player on the Post’s 2019 Big Board. The recruiting website 247Sports ranks Dent as a four-star prospect (the site’s compos- ite ranking has him a five- star prospect) and the No. 3 cornerback and No. 23 overall player in the 2019 class.

Several Palm Beach County players have played in the game before, including Palm Beach Gardens’ Gurvan Hall, Cardinal Newman’s Travis Rudolph, Palm Beach Central’s Kc McDermott, and Glades Day’s Kelvin Taylor.

Baseball: The accolades keep rolling in for the Jupiter baseball team. Baseball America magazine ranked the Warriors, who won their first state championship on June 3, as the No. 22 team in the nation in the magazine’s rankings, which were released Wednesday.

Jupiter finished the year 20-11 after an up-and-down regular season but won seven straight in the playoffs to clinch the title.

The Warriors ranked first in ThePrepZone.com’s Class 9A rankings, earning the No. 8 spot overall in the state. Baseball America’s rankings put Jupiter as the No. 3 team in the state, behind Fort Lauderdale-St. Thomas Aquinas and Miami Pace.
