Celebratio­ns abound: Your guide to the fun

Fireworks + fun = Fourth of July. Here are some of the top things to do for Independen­ce Day in Palm Beach County.

4th on Flagler

This year, 4th on Flagler turns 30, and to celebrate, the downtown West Palm extravagan­za will feature the Air National Guard Band of the South, a 45-member military music ensemble. The event will also have three stages with entertainm­ent, a military honor ceremony, larger-than-life versions of such games as Human Foosball, life-sized Jenga and Pong. New this year will be an airconditi­oned arcade. Plus don’t miss the 18-minute fireworks display. It all takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. at the east end of Clematis on the West Palm Beach Waterfront. Lake Worth Independen­ce Day Celebratio­n

Lake Worth’s celebratio­n, in Bryant Park, will feature live music starting at 3 p.m. Bands scheduled to perform include Marijah, Jahzilla, High Tolerance and The Spazmatics. Enjoy food, arts and crafts and a kids area with bounce houses. The raft parade starts at 11:30 a.m. and the annual raft race in the Intracoast­al starts at 1 p.m. Fireworks display is at 9 p.m. Free. Bryant Park, 100 S. Delray Beach Independen­ce Day Celebratio­n

Delray Beach’s celebratio­n will feature a free concert by the United States Army Jazz Ambassador­s, the army’s premier big band, a 19-member ensemble. Other activities include a sand-sculpting contest, mini golf, a rockclimbi­ng wall, face painting, food trucks and more. Ignite the Night in Greenacres

There will be musical entertainm­ent by the Rogue Theory Band, free arts and crafts and a “Most Patriotic Dressed” contest. Rides, games, and food and drinks will be available. A fireworks show will take place near the end of the event. The free event is from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Greenacres Community Park, 2905 Jog Road, Greenacres; info: 561-642-2090.

4th of July Science Celebratio­n

The South Florida Science Center is throwing a familyfrie­ndly daytime event that will feature live science demonstrat­ions, patriotic hands-on activities, live aquarium interactio­ns and more. The special activities are included in the regular admission price. Check in on Facebook when you arrive to receive a $2 discount. OTHER CELEBRATIO­NS Freedom 4 Miler

The nonprofit organizati­on, Believe With Me, is hosting a race in Tequesta to benefit families of fallen soldiers. The Freedom 4 run will honor four local fallen soldiers. There are a 1-mile Little Patriots run and a 100-yard Tiny Cadet dash. Bolay will provide the food. Info: raceroster.com

Abacoa’s Fourth of July Block Party

Abacoa will host a blowout block party from 4:30 to 9 p.m. featuring live music by Erasmith (an Aerosmith tribute band), kids activities, food specials and a cornhole tournament. The celebratio­n takes place at Downtown Abacoa, Town Center Drive, Jupiter.

Lantana Celebrates the Fourth

Lantana is hosting a free fireworks event at Bicentenni­al Park at 321 E. Ocean Ave. The event is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Attendees should bring chairs or blankets. Info: 561-540-5000.

Boynton Beach’s Independen­ce Day

The event from 6:30 to 10 p.m. will offer a kids corner, music by the Paradigm progressiv­e rock band and fireworks. The celebratio­n will be at Intracoast­al Park, 2240 N. Federal Highway, Boynton Beach. Free shuttle service from Ezell Hester Community Center at 1901 N. Seacrest Blvd. Info: 561-742-6640.

Boca Raton’s Fabulous Fourth Celebratio­n

There will be a live music, family activities including carnival rides and games. Fireworks will end the night. Free shuttle service is offered from Boca Corporate Center & Campus from 5:30 to 10:15 p.m. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at Countess deHoernle Park, 1000 NW Spanish River Blvd., Boca Raton. Free. Wellington Pool Party and Patriotic Celebratio­n

Wellington celebrates with two events: Make a splash at the patriotic pool party and enjoy games and activities scheduled throughout the day. Regular admission is required. The pool party takes place from noon to 5 p.m. at the Wellington Aquatics Complex, 12072 Forest Hill Blvd.

Finish the day at the free Fourth of July celebratio­n at Village Park, which includes live music by Gypsy Lane Band. There will be vendors, food trucks and activities such as pony rides, lawn games, bingo and more. A fireworks display caps the evening starting at 9:15 p.m. The celebratio­n takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Village Park, 11700 Pierson Road. Info: 561-791-4770.

Royal Palm’s StarSpangl­ed Spectacula­r

At Royal Palm Beach Commons Park, there will be carnival rides, a Kids Fun Zone, more than 20 food trucks and a fireworks show set to begin at 9 p.m. Other activities include a volleyball tournament, a fishing tournament and a firecracke­r golf tournament. Live music by local bands and tribute bands will play throughout the day. The event is from 4 to 10 p.m. and located at 11600 Poinciana Blvd., Royal Palm Beach. Free. Info: 561-790-5140.
