Managers call cops on black CVS customer

CVS Health is apologizin­g after a black customer says white store managers in Chicago accused her of trying to use a phony coupon.

Camilla Hudson posted cellphone video of one of the managers appearing nervous. Morry Matson’s left hand shakes as he calls police around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

The 53-year-old Hudson says another manager directly challenged her when she tried to use a manufactur­er’s coupon for a free product. She tells The Associated Press that he was “hostile.”

The Facebook video show Matson talking to police on the phone. No action was taken when officers arrived.

CVS apologized to Hudson. The company says it doesn’t tolerate discrimina­tion against customers and that it’s investigat­ing the matter. Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey said Sunday that the average price is 63 cents higher than it was one year ago.

Lundberg says prices at the pump may continue to slip slightly, due in part to weak gasoline demand caused by the higher prices.

The highest average price in the contiguous 48 states was $3.74 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The lowest was $2.52 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. his corpse after he died in November. Manson, 83, was serving a life sentence for orchestrat­ing the 1969 killings of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and eight others.

Judge Clifford Klein narrowed the case down to Jason Freeman, a man who says he’s the cult leader’s grandson, and Michael Channels, a pen pal who peddled memorabili­a he collected from Manson.
