HALL, Mary

-

Mary Hall passed away peacefully on June 28, 2018 at the age of 87, with her devoted daughter at her side. She was born in Portland, CT and she will be buried there in the hometown of her heart, alongside her mother Catherine, father Joseph, brothers Dominick, Angelo and Francis and sister Nancy. She came to Florida in the late 1950s, and after marrying Vincent Hall (who predeceased her in 2003), lived in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens. She is survived by her daughter Susan, who loved her very much; her dearly loved nephew Nick Inferrera and his dear wife Janice Hill, great-nieces Maya and Kate; niece Catherine (Griffo) Laureno (Russ); and nephews Raymond, Mel and Brian. Mary spent several years as a kindergarten teacher for St. Ann School in West Palm Beach, beloved by her students and their parents as she believed in the importance of education for all: her students entered first grade already able to read. She also worked at the Jupiter Town Hall for twenty years, a job she loved and did with a smile, and she loved her co-workers as they loved her; no one who needed help was turned away, and her attitude of optimism, positivity, compassion, pride in her work and philosophy of “life is short, be happy, have fun!” inspired all she met. After retiring she fulfilled her lifelong dream of traveling to Italy, the birthplace of her parents, as well as many other countries. She loved to garden and do projects around her house, read mysteries and cook wonderful authentic Italian meals from recipes passed down through the generations. Mary was the best mother ever to her daughter, loving, encouraging and protective; she was always upbeat, happy and confident. Her daughter Susan and nephew Nick will miss her very much. Thank you to Mary Huser ARNP-C, for all her medical care and advice for so many years. Thank you to her wonderful caregiver, Ana Ponce of Seniors Helping Seniors, and to Grace Watson (owner of Seniors Helping Seniors), as well dear Lorraine Normand (Seniors Helping Seniors). Eternal gratitude to Mark Telesca, Funeral Director, Eden Funeral Services, for his kindness and care for Mary’s final arrangements. Thank you to TrustBridge Hospice of Jupiter. If one wishes, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Adopt A Cat (Lake Park, FL).
