Marilyn Comstock O’Connor, 90, of Tequesta, FL, died peacefully at TrustBridg­e Hospice of Jupiter on June 6, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family and under the unwavering care of her daughter, Annie. Marilyn was born on November 15, 1927 in Bridgeport, CT to Milton and Florence (Comstock) Fesler, and grew up in Providence, RI. She was preceded in death by her steadfast and beloved husband of 63 years, Miles, her parents, her brother, Howard Fesler, and a grandson, Sean O’Connor. She is survived by her 7 children: Sue, Mark, Matt, Jack, Ed, Elizabeth, and Annie, their spouses, 15 grandchild­ren, 2 greatgrand­children, and a large extended family. Marilyn was a 1945 graduate of Hope High School and a 1946 graduate of The Katharine Gibbs School, both in Providence. She worked in the Alumni Office of Providence College until her marriage to Miles in 1954, after which they moved to Shelton, CT. There, she dedicated herself to raising their growing family. In the mid 1960s, she founded the locally popular Humpty Dumpty Playschool. She later became a real estate salesperso­n, and, with Miles in the late 1970s, owned and operated O’Connor’s Restaurant. After retiring to Florida in 1980, she worked in Jupiter at the box office of the Burt Reynolds Dinner Theatre, as a realtor at Margaret Massey Real Estate and on-site at Oceancrest Condominiu­ms, and as the broker at Mark IV Real Estate. She and Miles also owned and operated a number of rental properties in the area. Marilyn was a proud American and staunch conservati­ve, with a lifelong devotion to her family and her faith. She was a longtime parishione­r of St. Jude Catholic Church in Tequesta. A funeral Mass will be held there in the chapel at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018, with a Celebratio­n of Life to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Day Adult Care Center, 301 Ebbtide Dr., North Palm Beach, FL 33408, or to Alzheimer’s research.
