WHERE IN THE WORLD IS KRYSTIAN VON SPEIDEL?

Where does the Notables editor spend the summer?

After partying in Palm Beach all season and reporting on local philanthropists and society’s favorites, The Post’s Krystian von Speidel headed to a waterfront farm in Maine.

“Fields of wildflowers, apple orchards, forests, and ponds dot the farm, which has been stewarded by the same family for several generations,” von Speidel writes. “Blooming linden trees, water lilies and bullfrogs, wild turkeys, deer and songbirds, long sandy beaches, rocky coves, and even a secluded island complete the picture. I’ve enjoyed the privilege to share this special paradise.

“At the end of July, I’ll pop into the Hamptons for a quick weekend of benefits and boating before I decamp for my annual week to Newport. Whereas Maine is about quiet walks, sunset swims and leisurely lobster dinners with friends, Newport is jam-packed with activity. I’ll reconnect with lots of Palm Beachers. We’ll spend days lunching and sunning at the beach, and nights raising the roof at the Clark Cooke House Sky Bar. Then I head to Vermont for a week of hiking and biking, before returning to Florida for another notable season chronicling the society, charity and service that make this community so wonderful.”

The weekly Notables section — with editor von Speidel’s column — returns in The Palm Beach Post in October. The Notables Season Preview party, always the hottest ticket to kick off the social season, returns to the Eau Palm Beach resort on Oct. 9. Tickets will be for sale starting Sept. 17. Check this space in August for more details.
