Back-to-school expo: Join WPTV NewsChanne­l 5 personalit­ies from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for the station’s annual Back to School Expo at the Mall at Wellington Green, 10300 Forest Hill Blvd. The event coincides with Florida’s tax-free holiday, where families can stock up on a range of back-to-school essentials without paying state sales tax. At the expo, families will meet representa­tives from public and private schools, trade schools, universiti­es, and health and education-related companies. The Palm Beach County Sheriff ’s Office will provide informatio­n on its childsafet­y ID program, and JCPenney will have a back-to-school fashion show. Budget workshop: Want to learn more about Wellington’s proposed budget for the coming year? Your chance is coming up at a budget workshop at 3 p.m. Monday in rooms 1E and 1F of Village Hall, 12300 Forest Hill Blvd. The council will hear details and provide feedback on the proposed budget before it heads to its first vote. Wednesday green market: Grab some locally grown produce or handmade wares at Royal Palm Beach’s weekly green market, 4 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Veterans Park, 1036 Royal Palm Beach Blvd. The afternoon green market and bazaar is each Wednesday through Sept. 26, with the weekly Sunday green market resuming soon after.
