PALM BEACH GARDENS - Elizabeth Bedford Steele Sither went to be with The Lord on January 17th, 2024. Elizabeth was born September 21st, 1932 in Winchester, KY, the daughter of Martha Bedford and Roger Shirley Steele, descendant­s of Kentucky pioneers. She was predecease­d by her husband Gordon Bennett Sither, a retired special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigat­ion. From her childhood in Clark County, Kentucky to her many years in Palm Beach Gardens, Elizabeth called many places home including: Miami, Pebble Beach, CA, Franklin Park, NJ, Park Forest, IL, and Lexington, Kentucky. Elizabeth was an author and journalist having written several articles for various publicatio­ns. She was active in numerous civic organizati­ons including the DAR, Seminole Chapter. She was a charter member of the Henry County, Kentucky Historical Society and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Elizabeth is remembered as the driving force behind the Palm Beach Gardens Carol-Sing that ran from 2005 until 2017. Her determinat­ion and persistenc­e made it happen. While Elizabeth had many other accomplish­ments, nothing meant more to her than her family and friends. But above all, Elizabeth’s unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was paramount in her life. Elizabeth is survived by her sons: Gordon Bennett Sither, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Scarboroug­h, Maine, Roger Patterson Sither and his wife Marjorie of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and daughter Jane Elizabeth Schuler and husband Richard of Cape Coral, Florida, and three grandchild­ren: Nicole Bates of Jupiter, Florida, Matthew Sither and Rebecca DiDonato of Scarboroug­h, Maine, and eight great grandchild­ren. A memorial service celebratin­g her life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 555 U.S. Highway 1 in North Palm Beach at 1:30pm on Sunday, January 28th. The family is respectful­ly requesting no flowers.
