DELRAY BEACH — For the second consecutive year, Delray Beach has earned the prestigious Blue Flag designation. It’s a national award given to beaches that meet a set of criteria ranging from safety to environmental standards. friends noticed a glow coming from the side of Jackson’s home and went to investigate. Nathan pulled out his phone and began to record.

“Someone’s crib is on fire, bro,” he said. Within a second, it exploded.

Wellman said Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived within 12 minutes, though it “felt like an eternity” to the neighbors scrambling outside with hoses.

A spokesperson for the fire department said they began hosing down the house within two minutes of arriving. They did not say how long it took to extinguish the fire.

Neighbors launched two fundraisers for the Jackson family and their next-door neighbor, whose house was blackened and windows blown out by the explosion.

The Florida Supreme Court recently disciplined nine attorneys — suspending five, extending the ineligibility of one and reprimanding three. Court orders are not final until time expires for the disciplined attorney to file a rehearing motion.

The attorneys represent law practices from across the state of Florida. Disbarred lawyers may not reapply for admission for five years and are required to undergo a rigorous background check, as well as retake the Bar exam. Attorneys suspended for 91 days and longer must demonstrate that they have been rehabilitated in order to regain their law licenses.

Disciplinary revocation is tantamount to disbarment.
