An alleged crime spree that included car theft, assault with a hammer and fleeing frompolice crossed four jurisdictions and ended with the arrest of a 29-year-old Royersford man Wednesday

The arrest was made in Limerick, but the first alleged theft occurred in Royersford and the suspect, Brandon Fisher, is reported to have fled from police in Pottstown.

He was arrested in Limerick with the stolen car, blood on his hands while dumping allegedly stolen items into a dumpster and shortly thereafter became suspected of assaulting a woman in the face with a hammer while she slept on her couch in her apartment in Lower Pottsgrove.

According to information provided by Lower Pottsgrove Police, who took the lead investigating the case, it began about 4:40 p.m. Wednesday when Royersford Police received a report that a black Kia Soul and $40 had been stolen froma residence on Adams Street.

The call came fromFisher’s father, Robert Fisher Jr., who said his son was driving to Pottstown to buy narcotics. He said his son also said he would take his own life if he returned home and found police there, and intended to burglarize his grandmother’s house on Center Avenue in Pottstown, according to the af- fidavit of probable cause, written by Lower Pottsgrove Police officer Daniel Kienle.

Pottstown Police found Fisher in the Kia on Center Avenue, but he drove away when two police tried to stop him and police ultimately broke off the pursuit, according to police.

At 6:15 p.m., Limerick Police identified the Kia leaving the Philadelphia Premium Outlets via the Lightcap Road exit, according to court documents.

Police followed the Kia and observed it pull into a driveway off Lightcap Road and Fisher exit the vehicle and begin to throw items into a dumpster, according to the affidavit.

The Limerick officer took Fisher into custody and noticed he was “not wearing a shirt and had what appeared to be blood on his hands and body,” according to the affidavit.

The officer “also noted several small cuts to the left side of Brandon’s neck. These injuries appear consistent with wounds caused by fingernails.”

Inside the dumpster, police found make-up pouches, a cell phone and a T-shirt with blood stains on it.

At about the same time Fisher was being taken into custody, Lower Pottsgrove Police responded to a report of an assault in the Mahr Mill Apartments on Sanatoga Station Road. Witnesses had reported the possible assailant had fled the scene in a black, Kia Soul.

In the apartment, police said, a 23-year-old woman reported waking up on her couch in her living room to find a man who matched Fisher’s description standing over her with a hammer.

The attacker struck the victim with the hammer, whom police found bleeding and with a swollen face, according to court documents.

Police found a claw hammer on a brown chair in the living room of the apartment. “The hammer had blood on it and was on the seat cushion of the chair with multiple spots of blood around it. The living room had blood spots in multiple locations on the floor, the chair, the sofa, and the walls. Several other bloods spots were located in the kitchen and bedroom,” according to the affidavit of probable cause.

A search of the Kia revealed more make-up bags, a battery and SIMcard that appeared to match the cell phone discarded in Limerick, along with “two syringes located in the cup holder in the center console of the vehicle,” according to the affidavit.

Court records also indicate footage of a security camera at the apartments show Fisher arriving in the Soul and exiting the vehicle.

A release from Lower Pottsgrove Police indicated that Fisher was detained Wednesday on parole violations.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday evening on robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, theft, reckless endangerment, possessing an instrument of crime and various other charges.
